I sat alone on my bed worrying about the amount of money that's going to be used for my education in Australia. It's a huge sum for my aunt and grandma, considering the fact that they don't actually need to give me and my parents are the one who are supposed to carry this burden of giving their child a brighter future. But, they chose to dissapear in the early days of my life. I don't mind, really. I just wonder that if they had been brave enough to apologise for dumping me and my bro to my grandma, will i forgive them?
Anyway, while I was worrying about the finances, suddenly i thought about Sue. My bubbly cousin sister who is only 1 day and 1 month younger than me but 10cm taller and waaaaaay smarter than me.
I remembered the times where both of us and my other cousin sister Lyn (Sue's elder sister)stayed together in Subang, SS18. It was an indian home with an old lady who take cares 2 of her chubby grandchildren who is schooling nearby. Lyn was in her final term of her Degree so she was stayed with both of us (Sue and me) briefly. Sue and i were taking SAM at Taylors College at that time, until Sue got a scholarship and went to Monash to do AusMat.
We would walk from SS18 to Taylors and then from Taylors to SS18. It was a serious workout but it lasted a few months only. After that, Sue transferred to Monash Sunway and i stayed in My Place Apartments. Even though the walk was really tiring, it was one of the best times of my life. I managed to steal a litle time to spend with my adored and also envied cousin sister. I adore her because she's bubbly, lovable, warm and sweet. I envy her because she is more sociable and smarter than me. Aiya, chinese people mah... of course will kiasu abit.. Sue is one of the top scorers in my family and was quite famous back in high school. Told you that she's sociable. Although she's at the limelight, we still had alot of fun.
Sue's just fun to be around with. She make things seemed so much nicer. In our high school years, she developed a weird reaction. Actually it's more of a funny antic. Everytime when she's frightened, she'll close both her ears and jump slightly. That reaction applies to me squashing any bug, a scary scene in the cinema, a suprise, etc. It's not funny now because i'm writing in a very boring way and you just got to catch her doing LIVE! hehehe.. She also has this mocking laugh that she teases people with or just to muster a reaction (something like James) oh well, it's just interesting to watch her. hahax..
I have to admit that i have been rather evil laughing at her most of the time when she attempts to play a sport. I remember a time when me, her, Ying, and Quin played squash. 3 of us were playing just fine showing off our skills until Sue starts playing. I'm sorry Sue but it was damn funny to see you falling all over the court. Me, Ying and Quin were baffled at the amount of times she falls while trying to hit the ball. In the end we stopped playing altogether because we were more worried about Sue's knees than the game.
Well, Sue has her embarrasing moments and i have mine. I'll never forget the time when she was there supporting me thru my most embarrasing moments (at that time). My 1st ever slip-into-a-moldy-drain incident. I was being smart and took a 'shorcut' beside a drain. I don't know how and I don't know why but i slipped and fall knee and elbow first into the wet, slimy, greenish drain. IT WAS HORRIBLE!!!!! So yeah, i pull myself together and climbed out of the drain covered with green slime (eugh!). Sue came running and helped me wash off all the green crap off my school uniform. She laughed at first but later she whisked me off to the first-aid room where my seniors clean the wound on both my elbows and knees. And yah, i cried like shit. It hurts alot and there was alot of blood ok! But i felt better because i saw Sue. She just make things seem brighter. Thanks Sue!
That happened back when i was 13 i think... Now, I'm in Malaysia and she's in Melbourne. SO FAR AWAY...... Sue, I MISS YOU!!!!
